It's easy to compost!
What is Composting?
Composting is the biological decomposition, or breakdown, of organic material by bacteria and other organisms. There exist different types of compost, -backyard composting, -worm composting, -grasscycling Basically, backyard composting is an acceleration of the same process nature uses. By composting your organic waste you are returning nutrients back into the soil in order for the cycle of life to continue. Finished compost looks like soil–dark brown, crumbly and smells like a forest floor. Read more here...
Why should I compost?
For many reasons. Save money, save resources, reduce your environmental footprint, improve your soil by making your own fertilizer and much more! Today, households produce way too much waste and about half of that waste is compostable, so we could theoretically reduce by half our waste if only we all compost the adequate waste. How? Nature shows us how!
Pretty much all living organism like trees, animals or plants rejects their waste. When these organic wastes drop on the ground, millions of micro-organism get to work. In a few years, months or days, all these wastes are made available again for living organisms. Let's just see how nature reuses their waste to learn how we could!
It is by observing nature that we are able today to efficiently produce in few months compost of excellent quality which does not smell bad!! Read more here
Roles of Compost:
Composting reduces the soluble nitrogen contents of agricultural wastes. If these wastes are spread directly onto land the highly soluble nitrogen compounds can be easily washed into water courses. Compost is a very good and efficient way to reduce your ecological footprint!
I tried to make a website to show people how easy, efficient and NOT STINKY compost is! I did my best to bring together the best information out there and translate them as clearly as possible to you! Enjoy 🙂
